IMG_0588I just wanted to say a huge thank you for yesterday. The talks went down well and the workshops were excellent and the students gained a lot from them. Your encouraging tone and feedback when they were reading their work was perfect. Carolyn Shaw, Learning Commons Leader: The Bridge Learning Commons

I just wanted to say another big thank you for the workshop you delivered last Thursday. The children had a really wonderful time and were buzzing from it! Jill Braid: St George CEP Academy

Thank you for recommending Dave. We had a fabulous day. Dave entertained all the children and staff with a fun- filled, humorous assembly, followed by four superb writing workshops with years 4 and 5. His energy and enthusiasm for writing was completely infectious and hopefully some of our children will now value reading and writing as well as developing a desire to become authors. I shall be recommending Dave to our partnership schools. Pam: Bishop Loveday CE Primary School

I just wanted say thank you for giving the boys and girls from Bantock Primary a truly great experience at Castlecroft School recently. I know they all gained lots of new ideas from the day – as did the support teacher! Gretel Cooper: Bantock Primary School

Thank you so much for a great day yesterday. Several pupils have already talked to me about it. The tights do seem to have made a big impression, but they are keen to read your books too!  I think we worked you very hard with the two workshop sessions which were both challenging in different ways! It was lovely that you could chat to our young writers too. They were very excited and keen to put your ideas into practice. Chris: Featherstone High

Just wanted to let you know that we have had an amazing day with Dave today – he has been superb and the students have had a brilliant time with him. I would certainly recommend him 1000% to any other schools wanting to book an author visit as he was a joy to invite into our school and the students have been buzzing as a result of his presentations. Jackie Browne: Thetford Academy

David was absolutely amazing. Not only did he do a talk followed by five workshops in a room which was like a greenhouse, but he judged a bookmark competition, signed books and random pieces of paper and most importantly talked to any students who approached him. He was absolutely wonderful and I will be recommending him to other school librarians.  Sue Connell: Lister Community School

You did a talk at my sons school recently, North Ealing Primary School.  He absolutely loved it and I was thrilled to know that a subversive, anarchic and alive energy had entered an educational establishment in the form of you.  I laughed my heads of as my son, Tom, reenacted your teachings.

The students involved really enjoyed it. I heard the word awesome more than once.  Several students not involved in the workshops stopped by the library to see what all the fuss was about. David captivated the pupils with his delivery technique and with the fast pace of the workshops I can safely say no-one was bored including myself and the teachers.  A good time was had by all!!! Shelley Holman: St Christopher’s CE High School

Thank you for organising Dave’s visit last week.  The two days were fantastic and from Nursery up to Year 6 Dave inspired both the pupils and staff. We’ve already had some lovely prayers written, and look forward to staff continuing the work he started. As Dave’s visit coincided with our Governor Drop-In Day, there were visitors in and out of the sessions and positive comments received from governors too. A very successful two days.  Roz Cordner, Headteacher: All Saints C of E Primary School
